AI Foundations for Project & Delivery Teams is a practical, highly interactive one-day course that takes you from everyday AI conversations to building assistants, creating reusable Skills, delegating complete pieces of work and exploring AI agents, automation and AI-powered applications. This isn't a day of theory, powerpoint or just watching demonstrations. You'll work with others on a realistic delivery initiative, using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Miro to explore ideas, understand customers, plan delivery and build a working prototype. Along the way, you'll discover how AI can take on more of the work while humans remain firmly in control. You'll leave with practical experience, reusable approaches, new ideas for your workplace and the confidence to start reimagining how your team delivers value.

What will you learn?
🤖 Build AI assistants you can trust
Go beyond basic prompting to create, test and improve your own AI assistant. Learn how to challenge AI outputs, recognise hallucinations, improve instructions and apply practical guardrails.
💡 Take an initiative from idea to prototype
Work through a realistic delivery simulation, using AI to develop initiative and team canvases, customer personas, interview questions, customer journeys, OKRs and a product backlog. Discover how AI can accelerate discovery, planning and experimentation without replacing human judgement.
🧠 Create reusable AI Skills
Move beyond repeating the same prompts. Create reusable Skills that capture instructions, expertise and quality standards, and learn how to improve them through testing and feedback.
⚡ Delegate work, not just individual tasks
Explore how agentic AI can take on multi-step work. Use AI 'work' to turn project information into professional stakeholder communications, documents and other useful deliverables — while you supervise, challenge and review the results. Set up scheduled tasks so recurring work, such as status updates or research summaries, happens automatically.

How the day runs
Rather than sitting through a traditional agenda, you'll experience a connected series of activities that show how AI can support the entire delivery journey.
1. Meet your AI teammate
Start by creating your own AI assistant and discovering how to improve its reliability. Through engaging activities such as Hallucination Hunt and Prompt Poker, learn why good AI outcomes depend on more than writing clever prompts.
2. From idea to delivery
Join a fictional organisation, HarbourStone, and work with your team to develop a new initiative. Use AI to explore customer needs, create delivery artefacts, define outcomes, prioritise opportunities and prototype the customer experience.
3. Teach AI and delegate the work
Create a reusable Skill, set up a scheduled task and hand Claude a complete piece of work to plan and deliver. Discover the difference between asking AI to help with a task and delegating an entire piece of work for AI to plan and complete.
4. Connect agents and workflows
See a real-world example of AI agents working within an automated business process — from researching information and drafting content to routing it for human approval. Understand how AI, automation and people work together.
5. Build something real
Watch Claude Code turn initiative documents into an interactive application. Explore how a working prototype can be tested, refined and made accessible through a shareable web link.
6. Reimagine what's possible
Finish by looking beyond today's tools. Explore how your role and team might change, identify opportunities to delegate work responsibly and choose a practical experiment to take back to your workplace.
