  • Certified Scrum Professionals challenge their teams to improve the way Scrum and agile principles are applied. The Certified Scrum Professional®-Product Owner (CSP-PO) is the highest Product Owner certification from Scrum Alliance, for experienced Product Owners ready to take their skills to the next level.

  • Our CSP-PO is a rigorous, self-paced online program with personal feedback and coaching from Sam. You decide what you learn and when, and you put it into practice with your own product as you go.

  • As a CSP you can also attend exclusive CSP events, stand out to recruiters, take a step towards becoming a CST, CEC or CTC, and get a free Premium subscription to Comparative Agility®.

How the program works

CSP-PO is a self-paced online program, not a two-day class. It was designed by Jason Tanner and Carlton Nettleton, the trainers who wrote the certification standard, and combines short videos, workbooks and real workplace challenges with personal feedback and coaching from Sam.
1. Register and start Start as soon as you register. There's no fixed start date, and you get 12 months' access to the learning platform.
2. Work through the modules 11 on-demand modules of around 90 minutes each, with short videos (10–15 minutes), exercises, case studies and quizzes.
3. Apply it at work Each module includes a challenge to put into practice with your own product and team, so the learning sticks.
There are no shortcuts to mastering this material. If you're serious about your career as a Product Owner, this program is designed for you.
4. Get feedback from Sam Sam, CST, reviews your assignments against the rubric and gives you personalised feedback and advice.
5. Join the coaching sessions Four virtual coaching sessions with Sam, one-to-one or in a small group, on whatever you bring to the table.
6. Get certified Once your work is complete and your experience is validated, Sam requests your CSP-PO certification. There's no exam. What you'll leave with

Eligibility

  • Hold an Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner® (A-CSPO) from Scrum Alliance.
  • Validate at least 24 months' Product Owner experience within the past five years. You can start the program before you have it.
  • Complete all parts of the program, including the workplace assignments.
  • Accept the CSP-PO licence agreement and complete your Scrum Alliance profile.

Questions

  • Can I start without the required experience?
  • Yes. You can start before you have 24 months' Product Owner experience. Your certification is issued once you have it and your Scrum Alliance profile is updated.

  • When can I start?
  • Straight away. There's no fixed start date, so ignore any 'start' date you see on the Scrum Alliance website.

  • How long will it take?
  • Most people take 3 to 4 months, at about one module a week. Allow at least six to eight weeks: this program is deep by design and not one to rush.

  • How long do I have to finish?
  • Six months from registration. Extensions are available for A$350 (3 months) or A$550 (6 months).

  • Is there a test?
  • No. Sam assesses your assignments and looks for evidence that you can apply what you've learned with a real product and team.

  • Where next? Many CSP-POs go on to Certified Agile Leader® (CAL), Agile Coaching (ICAgile), or work towards becoming a Certified Team Coach (CTC), Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC) or Certified Scrum Trainer (CST).
