I love Terry’s book as it takes lots of Agile principles and applies them to everyday life. It’s a great place to start for new learners to Agile.
I love this book, and it’s the book I would love to have written! How to tackle the Agile Transformation … real stories from Australian companies on the challenges and how to overcome them. A great read for senior leaders leading the change and agile coaches.
Agile is all about thinking differently, we talk about ‘mindset shifts’. This is often applied to leaders, but teams also need to adapt their thinking to embrace the benefits of Agile. I love Carol’s book, her ‘Growth Mindset’ (compared to a ‘Fixed’ one) is akin to the Agile mindset.
How do you create a culture of innovation and creativity in a company as it seeks greater agility? This book shares a collection of BEANs : behaviour enablers, artifacts, and nudges to make innovation come to life in a team or organisation. So many great ideas to engage, innovate and grow!
Love this book. The Phoenix Project was the novel, this is the Handbook. Very practical, lots of case studies, and easy to digest for non-technical people. Learn how collaboration and automation can reduce risk and help you deliver value faster.
Roman has brought together a great book that helps Product Owners develop effective strategies and actionable roadmaps. Simple canvases make the practical application of the tools simple and easy, and I love the flow from strategy to product backlog.
Leadership can be lonely and very challenging. Jay shares how to move from feeling stress, pressure, and unhappiness to focusing on wellbeing, purpose, and mindfulness. When the leader is in a better place, they can role model and support their Agile teams to do the same. Superb book, and lots of very practical tips.
Squads, Tribes, Chapters. Too often organisations copy the Spotify model but miss the point. They don’t always re-organise around value and the flow of work. This is the practical handbook on how to re-structure your teams in the right way. A must read for leaders, consultants and HR professionals.
One of my favourite books to help leaders better understand agile, three simple ‘laws’ and many case studies. I love the focus on value to the customer which some organisations forget in their focus on ways of working not ways of being and leading
Too often we solve the wrong problem, and don’t understand what customers really want. One of the original agile books, it provides practical ways to iteratively deliver value with continuous adaptation and adjusting on the way. An oldie but still a goodie!
Love John’s book on how to deliver change at scale with 4 proven techniques. The examples come from business, government, education and public health and provide a method for Product Owners who need to make great ideas scale.
How do you make your product stand out? How do you create a Product or Service that is remarkable and truly noticeable in a crowded market? Purple Cow shares stories from companies that have used Seth’s approach to get spectacular growth. Perfect read for Product Owners looking for ways to differentiate in the market.
Told as a story, this is my favourite book on creating a high performing team. Patrick shares the 5 behavioural tendencies that are at the heart of why even the best teams struggle at times, and how to overcome them!
This book helped me shift my leadership approach. It’s too easy to lay blame, deny or justify why we can’t do something. This book taught me how to take responsibility and be more conscious of how I act as a leader each day.
Agile is about autonomy. How can leaders step back, give up some control and help the teams take greater responsibility without micro-management? I love David’s ‘Intent Based leadership’ model and how it motivates the team to deliver amazing results!
Very practical guide to Scrum, lots of great solutions to common anti-patterns that teams can get into. Recommended for Scrum Masters looking to improve how their teams work and how they work together
